I’ve read so many good opinions about it that i thought to mylself why not? Then i ordered one from 47stphoto through amazon. When i got the package i noticed that they put 2 nikon adapters instead one for Pentax. That was my luck because i had the perfec excuse to return it. Why?

    1. It does not help you to see any better or any closer (that makes a difference).
    2. The glass is so poor that looks like u r using the worst filter on your lens ever!
    3. reduce your angle of viewing.

pros? Just read all the others threads about it! That was my mistake to believe completely without testing by myself so i want to help people like me to not buy it without first trying out this product.

ps: i tried to resell it to two others friends, one uses a d3 and another a 1ds. In case u think it’s just me

  • This product is described as appropriate for the Canon EOS XTI. Unfortunately, the extension of the eyepiece when mounted entirely blocks the sensor that shuts down the camera’s LCD display screen when you place your eye to the optical viewfinder. This unfortunately make the product useless to me.

I purchased this eyepiece as a replacement for the original eyepiece on my Canon Rebel XTi. After nearly an hour of experimenting with its focus, I was unable to see clearly through the eyepiece – and yes, I first checked the diopter adjustment on the camera.

So, I ended up returning the product. Unfortunately, I wasted nearly $20 in express shipping to receive the product prior to leaving on a photo expedition. I ultimately purchased the Canon OEM eyepiece for the camera for $12.

  • This KPS magnifier actually gives a 1. 35x magnification, that’s a 35% increase, which is very significant. I put one on a Panasonic Lumix L1 dslr and the improvement is fantastic. If your viewfinder is small and/or dark, I would give this magnifier a try. The rubber eye cup works great and cuts out all ambient light. Two screws secure it to the original viewfinder so it won’t fall off. I gave it only four stars because I think it is a bit over-priced, but then again, forty bucks for a whole new viewfinder isn’t too bad. One note: I do NOT wear glasses, so I cannot comment on how this will work for those who wear glasses.

  • I added this to my Canon 50D and love it! It makes the viewfinder much larger. I compared it to a 5D and it is very close in terms of size when looking through this. It makes it easier to see focus and the rubber cup is much nicer than the stock eye piece. It also installs very well so you don’t have to worry about it falling off. I put up a comparison picture on Flickr. You can find it by searching this on [. . . ], sgf323 canon 50d kps 1. 3x site:[. . . ]
