I like the 12-60mm lens. . . Comments authors are right on the money. A fine piece of equipment. Nevermind the cost. . . good pictures are worth it, right. I wanted more clarity in my photos. However, when I did a close comparison with my Olympus 18-180 lens and I thought 12-60 was not much difference between them. The comparison was done in Lightroom 2 with a series of photographs of the two lenses in the same exact conditions (sunlight) and expansions (even using the EC-20 2x converter). I know that Consumer Reports really trashed the 18-180 lens, but I have always enjoyed a very practical lens taking photos fine. . . But is it really up to the likes of 12-60mm? I doubt it. My explanation: (1) I’m not all that fussy about my photos and a better eye to see big differences, and (2) my E520 is at its maximum capacity with either lens. . . Maybe if I used the E30 or E3 will be a much bigger difference. For now I return the Zuiko 12-60mm and a plan to use the funds to buy 50-200mm. Rating: 5 / 5

  • 1. By way of general background, I’m used to the lenses of good quality: in the film era, I used Contax Zeiss primes (21mm, 28mm, 35mm, 50mm, 60mm macro) and XPAN with 45mm and 30mm. In the digital age, I used the Sony F828 and Sony R1 (both Zeiss lenses) .2. Brief impressions of the Olympus 12-60mm zoom range * Excellent, perhaps the best zoom range for my type of photography. * Excellent construction and feel. Compared to other brands, Olympus, in general, has a very well built lens. * Image quality: technical analysis, one has to consult the website, so many. . However, subjectively, can produce very pleasing images. However, as others have pointed out on the web, which has a funky pattern of distortion at 12mm, which is difficult to correct (even with the lens PT, etc. ..) .3. However, if you have an Olympus camera is a cinch to achieve this goal. If you do not currently have a digital SLR system, this is a serious and legitimate reason that would persuade one to enter the system Olympus.4. I do not give a 5 star, because only the lens, as the Zeiss Distagon 21mm 2. 8 are met 5 star lens. But in terms of a lens of mid-grade consumer level, this is a winner. Rating: 4 / 5

After 9 months of constant use I have to say that this is the best zoom lens I’ve shot with. If you are a 4 / 3 at some point the user has to prove this goal! This and the 50-200 SWD, plus the 50mm macro is in my opinion “essential elements for any 4 / 3 shots. Solid, built like a tank, weather sealed to keep the elements out and fast approach. I shot with the Mk1 original 14-54mm lens which is good, but sat on the platform once the only complaints 12-60 llegó.Mis (really minor): bokeh is not as good as the 70-300mm, 50mm and 50-200mm, but to be honest I do not use the 12-60 for the “flat” or macro, like the work so no real problem. Also, the lens does not feel too great in the smallest cameras in the body . I can speak for the E-500 – tends to make very heavy at the front. In the E-30 and E-1 that feels perfect! There is some barrel distortion at the end of the 12 mm, which only seems to affect the faces of people near the margins of the photo. I just extended to 14 mm for this type of fire and the fireball disappears. And finally, when stretched to 60 mm is a little… if you like phallic . All complaints small, none of which take away from the bright images of this lens produce.Hágase a favor and at least one deal in their camera 4 / 3. You start saving good money right away! For small E-5xx cameras, E-4xx-6xx and E may not be able to use the internal flash as the size of the lens blocks some of the luz.Usted can see the chapel on their image when choosing 12mm zoom. Design flaw? Quality is excellent and much better than the kit lens, but you must be aware that most F 4. 0 as one approaches 60 mm instead of straight 2. 8. Rating: 4 / 5

  • I bought the 12-60mm lens for use as a travel lens every day. It replaced a 14-54mm lens MKI. The lens is an amazing artist to provide a somewhat broader coordination extremos.Aunque liked both out of the 14-54mm MKI, sharpness and superior image quality of 12-60 is easily visible. Go to my main lens for the Olympus E-30 DSLR.En the last 5 years, I used the 14-45mm and 14-54mm zoom lens as my standard. I think out of the 12-60mm is so superior that it is definitely worth the extra cost. Rating: 5 / 5
