I received my Pentax K10D for Christmas in 2007. It came with the Pentax 18-55mm. I like capabilites telephoto, so I bought a Tamron 70-300. Both lenses work well for its basic function. On a recent vacation, I was trying to photograph a play by the position of the audience. The 55mm was too short and the 70 was too narrow to frame the pictures he wanted. When it announced the 18-200, I put on my Christmas list 2009.Mi first experience with the 18-200 was at an event in the multipurpose room at the elementary school my grandchildren. I took many photos of the event without a flash. The only downside I can mention is that you must accept the longer exposure times due to the speed of the lens for indoor lighting. Outdoors, I have not had any problems with the speed of the lens to take photos of the grandkids playing in the park. Rating: 5 / 5
This is a great lens and I am very satisfied with the results I am receiving. The sharpness and clarity on par with the lens plus the costs incurred for high-end cameras (I compared mine with a Nikon D80 18-200mm). I bought it because it is a Hassel to carry lots of lenses. Changing the lens runs the risk of dirt and lint inside the camera body. If tiny particles get into the mirror, to appear in the picture and has to be removed with a computer. Although I have a Pentax K10D, I just did not want to take that risk. The hood is a bit cumbersome to put on, something I’ve resolved with a collapsible rubber hood. I do not think the problem should lead a estrella.Otra great feature of this objective by using the manual focus, blinks little red “dots” when it goes beyond the correct focus point. After discovering that the role, most of the filming is done manually, except for fast action stuff and moving objects. Macro and landscape are all manual now.
