Despite its low price, have very good image quality and is very light, for someone who wants an economic objective, with good reach or want to start in the macro world, this is the best option. It is also compatible with the D40 and the like that do not bring focus motor in the body. Rating: 5 / 5
I bought this Tamron objective because I’m going on vacation very soon to Chicago and Wisconsin. It has an incredible zoom from its 70-300mm Nikon D40/D60 owners but be aware, because the 2 models do not come with an autofocus motor built into the camera, but its always good to get used to manual focus I’m doing, because There are some situations where the AF is not the best. I recommend this product for all Nikon models out there. 5 of 5. In order to have a lens compatibility with AF in the D40 and D60 must be AF-S. as Nikkor lenses out there, but as I said before its always good to get used to manual focus. Rating: 5 / 5
This is a high quality lens at an affordable price. Shipping was fast and priced fairely Rating: 5 / 5
This lens work with the Nikon D40 / D40x kit! After looking everywhere and trying to figure out which lens would work with my Nikon D40x, I finally found this revised target saying yes. Website (Even Tamron was so confusing). I took a chance. I received the lens of the Amazon. The packaging is a bit suspect. The picture of the ship in which is a little big, no peanuts or air-filled pockets (I had read in another review), but found no damage to the lens. I put it right on my Nikon D40x and it worked as described. I am not a professional photographer by any means and just wanted something for my children’s soccer games. By moving to this target on the stock 18mm – 55mm now I can shoot from the other end to another with out having to be constantly in motion, with action. I found a bit of softness in the range of 300 mm when I go to crop a photo, but for the price and taking pictures from 100 yards away I think this is a robbery. Rating: 4 / 5
Although this lens has zoom functions of Nice, is slow to focus on a topic in either AF or manual modes. Hard to get images fast. For the money, is a relatively good value. Rating: 3 / 5
